@ the Holland Food & Flower Event in Bovenkarspel 

 Gisteren hebben we het Holland Food & Flower Event in Bovenkarspel bezocht.
Met heerlijke proeverijen van groenten, bloemen! en allerlei fruit.
We zagen  schitterende bloemendecoraties en boeketten in alle kleuren...
De natuurlijke bloemen  bloeien uiteindelijk uit.
Mijn 'wilde' glasbloemen blijven voor altijd hetzelfde...

 

 'Wild' Glass Bead Flowers

 

Yesterday we visited the Dutch Food & Flower Event in Bovenkarspel.

We tasted delicious vegetables, flowers! and all kind of different fruits.
We saw amazing bouquets and decorations made of flowers in as many colors as possible.
The real flowers will finish flowering at last.
My 'wild' glass bead flowers will last for ever...

 

Een béétje...

 

Vandaag sneeuwt het weer een beetje na een paar hele koude dagen met veel wind.
Als je naar dit bloemetje kijkt dat ik in een glasbolletje maakte,
lijkt het even voorjaar :-)  en er is zelfs al een vlindertje...

 

Today it's snowing a little bit again, we just had a few very cold and windy days.

But, for a moment, it looks as if it's Springtime, yes?
When looking at this little flower I made in a glass button :-)
and oooo, there's even a small butterfly!

 

 

Challenge

 

 

In het Bead Soup Cafe (Facebook) staat regelmatig een oproep voor een uitdaging.
Onderstaande prachtige foto, de papegaai, was dit keer de inspiratiebron.

Ik maakte een armband met o.a. 2 home-made glaskralen, en won de Challenge!
 

Feather Love Challenge

Yess, my bracelet, with a.o. 2 home made glass beads in it, won the Challenge
in the Bead Soup Cafe on Facebook!
The picture of the parrot was the beautiful source of inspiration...

 

Wow, wat leuk! Nu mag ik - als winnaar- een foto plaatsen.
En dat is deze geworden, genomen op reis door Ethiopië, een paar jaar geleden.
Wat een enorm  contrast... Is dit een echte uitdaging of niet!?
Wat wordt er zoal gemaakt?

Now, as the winner, it's my turn to choose a picture...
Is there a bigger contrast between the Feather Love picture and this one!?
That's the reason I choose it... I took the picture when we were visiting Ethiopia

Implosion

Soft Glass Frit Implosion
 

Gisteren heb ik mijn eerste zachtglas frit implosie gemaakt op de punt van
mijn mandrel. Het is een leuk lentebloemetje geworden, dit kleine bolletje!

 

Yesterday I made my first soft glass frit implosion on top of
my mandrel. It turned out as a sweet spring flower, this little ball!

Winter Time

 

Wintertijd, de tijd om het huis eens extra op te ruimen of meer bezig te zijn met wat je graag doet.
Dat laatste is onder andere glaskralen branden. En nu ook nadenken over sieraden
voor de BSB-party. Allebei erg leuk! Met branden ben ik verder dan met designen :-)

Dit setje kralen maakte ik gisteravond...

 

Winter Time,  a period for cleaning the house a bit extra, or do what you love to do.
For me, that's making glass beads. This winter I have to think
about designing jewelry for the BSB-party too :-)

Burning glass is easier than designing at the moment!

Black Suede Shoes

 

Ik heb na lange tijd weer eens schoenen gekocht. Dat doe ik niet eens zo vaak :-)
Met rozen, deze keer wow! Daar past de armband (uit mijn collectie
Angaza by Changes) met Zilver uit Ethiopië mooi bij. Met Onyx, Bergkristal en Agaat.

From time to time I buy a pair of shoes. Not even so often :-) With some roses, wow!

The bracelet  (part of my collection Angaza by Changes) is made with Ethiopian Silver and
goes very well with the shoes, doesn't it? I added some Onyx, Rock Crystal and Agate.

Wat kom ik mooi glas tegen bij het uitzoeken van mijn voorraad...
 Een soort voorjaarsschoonmaak!
En tegelijk een 'in de startblokken' voor het komende seizoen.

 

Mijn tulpen zijn echt helemaal uitgebloeid. De kleur gaat
prachtig samen met de kleur van de nu netjes gelabelde staven.
Reichenbach Mystic Pink, wat een intrigerende naam!

 

Volgende week ga ik aan de slag voor de Bead Soup Blog Party,
Nu nog even daarover verder dagdromen!

I labeled and cleaned my glass rod stash, a kind of spring cleaning!
The tulips in my vase are almost gone, but match very well
with the Reichenbach Mystic Pink glass. A fascinating name...

I'm still daydreaming about the Bead Soup Blog Party,and
want to get started next week with my project(s?) :-)

Namibia
 

 

 

Een paar jaar geleden reisden we door Namibië, wat een schitterend!!! land met mooi
wildlife en vreselijk aardige inwoners! We liepen op de zandduinen met de bekende
Dune 45 en in de Namib Desert. We bezochten de Himba en de Bushmen, onvergetelijk.

In de koffer naar huis ging een flesje zand mee. Een beetje er van zit in de
transparante glaskralen... Een souvenir voor altijd!

 

 

Voor wat extra kleur, kijk, een mix & match van het BSBP-duo!

We travelled around in Namibia a few years ago, what an amazing country.
We went to see the famous sand dunes (a.o. Dune 45) and were in the Namib Desert. We
payed a visit to the Bushmen and Himba. That was unforgettable...

 

I took a bottle with some desert sand home with me and used a bit of it
in the glass beads I made. A perpetual souvenir.

  

Intuition

 

Wat denken jullie? Heeft Lori haar intuitie gebruikt om Birgitta en mij te koppelen
als Bead Soup Blog Partners? Het lijkt er op als je naar deze foto kijkt,
wat een combinatie, haar kunst en mijn glaskralen. Ik vind het prachtig om te zien!

Soup's ready...

 

 

Gisteren is mijn Soup veilig bij Birgitta aangekomen, met daarna een hele lieve reactie van haar
op mijn Facebook. Zelf heeft ze daar (onwetend) 'haar' 4 glaskralen gekozen door een
'Vind ik leuk' te plaatsen :-)  Ze gaat vandaag op haar blog schrijven over wat ik haar stuurde. 

Hier is mijn Soup:

Met een paar bonbons natuurlijk!!! Altijd lekker.

En... een paar uur later was Birgitta's Soup er ook en wat voor soep, echt hééél erg mooi...

 

Birgitta received my Soup yesterday, and sent me a sweet  message on Facebook.
In a way she picked 'her' glass beads herself by liking them there...
Today she'll write on her blog about the Soup from Holland.
At the top of this blog you see the picture of what I sent, to start with delicious chocolates!

And then...
a  few hours later, Birgitta's Soup arrived, and what a Soup it is, I'm flabbergasted!

Look!!!! How beautiful... I really really love those colors and materials!

 

The recipe...

I see 2 amazing ceramic focals and a sweet little flower (made by herself) and so is the 
copper clasp! A leather cord, some wooden beads, freshwater pearls, silk, agate, copper beads, a vintaj chain necklace and lots of little gemmies...This really inspires me.
Birgitta says:"Dini, I hope you find something you like in this soup".
It's not something I like, it's everything!
