Welcome to this Epic Inspiration Jewellery Design Challenge and Blog Hop!

Thank you so much Melissa, for organizing this Hop…
I had a lot of fun watching films and movies, you gave me a great time
J
And then came the moment  I had to chose one…
In The Netherlands we have a lot of different  -new- great shows on TV,
but… we have had some epic TV in the past as well!
And so I chose a movie I was quite impressed by in the eighties…
A movie of the life of the King of the Zulu’s, Shaka Zulu.
What an impressive story and what an impressive cast as well!

Wikipedia gives a lot!!! of information about Shaka’s life.
Here’s his story;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaka

Shaka was raised mostly by Nandi, his mother.
If it was not for her Shaka would have never grown into the man he became.
Nandi was queen mother of the Zulu’s.
Her death had a profound effect
on Shaka and he never recovered from her death.  He went into a deep
stage of mourning, depression and erratic behavior.
This is ‘Nandi’ in the movie:

The picture inspired me to design this necklace

Happy hopping!
Here's the list with the names of the other participants  :-)

Alenka’s Butterflies Birthday Blog Hop & Giveaway

To start this blog with dear Alenka, - here is her weblog - I hope you had a
great birthday and many many more beautiful  years to come!

Like you I missed the blogging too, and I was happy  to find your post on Facebook,
thanx so much for starting and organizing this hop. The Butterfly Theme you chose
is such a lovely one, with a very special and symbolic meaning for so many people.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Since a few days  it’s Springtime in The Netherlands, with loads of ☼ Sunshine ☼
this week Friday! I love it, and even already spotted some butterflies in our garden
and in the woods near our house…
For the jewellery I made, I used the embossing & deco etchting technique
and used alcohol ink to add some color. The blanks are made of bronze, I
heated the metal to make it a bit easier to work with. Here is the result,
a pair of earrings and of course, a bracelet. There's always a bracelet :-)

There are 19 participants, come and see  how they worked out this amazing theme.
Have fun visiting their blogs and admiring their great work.

Elspeth

My Black and White Victorian Challenge...

Since I'm "on FaceBook" I see many many stunning Art pieces -
made by Moriah Betterly / Blu Mudd passing by on the screen of my laptop...
Long time, one of the things I wished to do was, being able to
participate in one of their Challenges...

And yes, there came the opportunity to do so, so I jumped in.
No idea what I ordered... the content  of the box was a surprise!
Later on I saw a picture and found out what is was...
It took quite a while before it arrived in The Netherlands.

I love the Cameo! It remembers me of my mother, she liked to have
them in her jewellery... The colours of the pieces are a bit green- dark greyish,
so I added lots of small Kazuri beads in matching colours, freshwater pearls
and facetted rock crystal for ☼ the sparkling effect ☼

I used a very simple design to let the Cameo get all the attention she deserves.

The bracelet matches with the necklace. This jewellery will complete
my ♥ lbd ♥ at Christmas, I will love to wear it in a few weeks!

Merry X-mas to you all...

Falling on the Edge of October

Sparkling Rocks

Today is the day for the Reveal of the
“Falling on the Edge of October" Jewellery Design Challenge &
Blog Hop.
Yes… another Hop hosted by Rita – Toltec Jewels-

‘We’ are all challenged to create a piece of jewellery, with one of the
beautiful sparkling rocks lampwork beads (made by Maryse Fritzsch-Thillens)
the featured artist of
Glass Bead Art Lampwork.

Rita sent each participant a bead, how sweet is that!
Mine never arrived, that can happen ✈ on its long ✈journey :-)
But I was very lucky having enough time left to buy some
in Maryse’s Etsy shop in Luxembourg.

November 1.

Yes, we are ‘Falling on the Edge of October’…into November :-)
We’re still surrounded by stunning sunsets and beautiful flowers.
These colours go so well with the beads!

For creating the bracelet I used 1 orange  and 2 purple sparkling rocks.
I added some raw amber and matching beads
from The Curious Beadshop on Etsy
Amber
When I took my picture, the sun was shining
so the amber and the beads are really glowing!

Lovely Sparkling Beads

Here's the list with the other artists’ names, have fun and
