Welcome to this Epic Inspiration Jewellery Design Challenge and Blog Hop!

Thank you so much Melissa, for organizing this Hop…
I had a lot of fun watching films and movies, you gave me a great time
J
And then came the moment  I had to chose one…
In The Netherlands we have a lot of different  -new- great shows on TV,
but… we have had some epic TV in the past as well!
And so I chose a movie I was quite impressed by in the eighties…
A movie of the life of the King of the Zulu’s, Shaka Zulu.
What an impressive story and what an impressive cast as well!

Wikipedia gives a lot!!! of information about Shaka’s life.
Here’s his story;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaka

Shaka was raised mostly by Nandi, his mother.
If it was not for her Shaka would have never grown into the man he became.
Nandi was queen mother of the Zulu’s.
Her death had a profound effect
on Shaka and he never recovered from her death.  He went into a deep
stage of mourning, depression and erratic behavior.
This is ‘Nandi’ in the movie:

The picture inspired me to design this necklace

Happy hopping!

  4. You have just given me another show to add to the list of things to watch (if I could find it)! Your design is a vivid creation of what inspired you to make it. It all comes together in a rather organic manner - color, texture, natural elements. I just want to run my fingers over those carved beads! Very well done.
